Tarot Ornaments

Just in time for the holidays, I have designed 22 oval ornaments. Each ornmanet features an original collage illustrating one card of the major arcana of the ancient Tarot. The collages were originally produced on index cards using photographs, magazine pages, and printed images. They were then scanned into the computer and sized for the ornaments. The number of the card and its title were added at this time.

If you study (or collect) each of the ornaments you will see that almost every single design features a butterfly or moth. I chose this as a running theme because the story of the Tarot is that of a person's journey toward enlightenment and the challenges s/he meets along the way. This seemed to relate to the metamorphic transformation of the butterfly or moth when I was designing the images.

If you like the images but are unfamiliar with the Tarot, I have included brief descriptions of the meanings at Luna Crafts.
